Water, Carpet
and Upholstery do not mix and when adding heat to the equation
such as in hot Water Extraction (Referred to as Steam Cleaning)
can result in a devastating effect . Problem that are associated
with hot Water Extraction (Referred to as Steam Cleaning)
are as follows, Shrinkage, Wrinkling, separation of backing,
separation at seams, removal of factory stain protection,
decreases fire resistance, dye deterioration and outright
destruction of fiber or fabric not visible to the eye. Odor
dry rot bacteria growth and browning. Dulling to wick back
of dirt that has been washed down to the base of the carpet
and upholstery during cleaning. Resoiling due to inadequate
chemicals which leave a sticky residue behind after cleaning
which actually causes dirt to stick to and absorb back into
carpet fiber and upholstery fabric. Then you can wait up
to 24 hrs. or more before your carpet and upholstery is
dry to the base.
There
is no wonder carpet has taken a bad rap over the years.
